Mike Piazza broke into Major League Baseball with the Dodgers where he played until the middle of the 1998 season. In a highly publicized and unpopular trade in L.A., he was traded to the Florida Marlins where he appeared in 5 games for them until they in turn traded Mike to the New York Mets. Piazza played for the Mets for 7 1/2 years before moving on to the San Diego Padres and ending his career with the Oakland A's.
Among his many accomplishments, he was 1993 N.L. Rookie of the Year, a 12-time All Star, 1996 All Star MVP and he holds the Major League record for total home runs by a catcher.
